Mugworts are commonly known as evil repellant plants. People from China have been using them since ancient times - from the famous Compendium of Materia Medica, mugworts are said to be purely " Yang", meaning that it only contains positive energy. They were often used to remove humidity and coldness from the body whilst improving circulations and any genealogical conditions. Their unique scent also repels insects. It was also said that soaking and steaming with mugwort-infused water helps to disinfect and stop itching.
Apart from the mentioned usages, mugwort are also useful for cleansing environment, human bodies and stones. By cleansing your stones with mugworts, you can restore the stone's original appearance, or even unleash it's full potential.
I usually cleanse and purify my stones with mugworts. Sometimes, I also burn incense to cleanse them. (There will be another article explaining the use of incense).
It's so important to cleanse and purify your crystals. When they arrive at my home, I will cleanse them right away. It's simple to do so: Fill a container with 50% boiling water and 50% cold water, put some salt and mugworts in, and soak your stones in the water for at least eight hours. After that, take them out until they cool down and dry. * Please note: this method is not applicable for stones that are not soakable.
I know that there are a lot of cleansing methods, and I've tried most of them too. The truth is, noting even comes close to what mugworts can do. If you're interested, you should try this out at home too and give your crystals a little cleansing soak!
